Deer Valley Resort targets Dec. 5 opening for 2026-27 season

Deer Valley Resort has announced a target opening date of Dec. 5 for its 2026-27 winter season, pending weather conditions. The resort may open earlier or later depending on snowfall, though it has invested in extensive snowmaking equipment covering up to 932 acres to mitigate unpredictable weather.

As part of its Expanded Excellence initiative, the resort is introducing the Hail Peak Express lift. This addition will provide access to 200 new skiable acres and seven new runs, bringing the total to 209 runs and approximately 4,500 skiable acres. The resort will utilize a phased opening strategy, starting with terrain around Snow Park and Silver Lake.

In addition to terrain expansions, Deer Valley is preparing to host the freestyle skiing World Cup in January 2027.
