Deezer reports AI‑generated tracks now exceed half of daily uploads

Deezer said that AI‑generated music made up more than 50 % of daily new uploads in June 2026, with an average of about 90 000 synthetic tracks per day. The share rose from 44 % in April 2026 to over half of all uploads by June.

The company estimates that AI‑generated tracks account for only 1‑3 % of genuine listening streams, but up to 85 % of AI‑generated streams recorded in 2025 were identified as fraudulent and excluded from royalty calculations. Deezer will remove AI tracks used for streaming fraud and any that have not been streamed for six months or longer.

Deezer’s AI music detector claims a 99.8 % detection accuracy. A CISAC‑commissioned study warned that generative AI could threaten 24 % of music‑creator revenues in 2028, roughly €4 billion. CEO Alexis Lanternier said Deezer is protecting artists’ royalties by combating AI‑generated music fraud.
