Deezer launches tool to detect AI‑generated songs across streaming platforms

Deezer has released a free online tool that scans users' playlists for tracks created entirely by artificial intelligence. The service connects to up to 20 music‑streaming apps, including Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and YouTube Music, and can analyse playlists in 27 languages. When AI‑generated songs are identified, they are marked and excluded from Deezer’s recommendations and editorial playlists.

The company says 43 % of users who switch to Deezer from other services already have AI‑generated music in their playlists, often without realizing it. Deezer reports that it processes around 75 000 AI‑generated uploads each day, accounting for roughly 44 % of all new songs on its platform. To date it has identified more than 13.4 million AI‑generated tracks. By offering the detection tool to users of any platform, Deezer aims to increase transparency for listeners and protect revenue for human artists.
