Def Leppard to star in new authorized documentary

British rock band Def Leppard has announced 'Long Live Def Leppard', their first authorized feature-length documentary. Directed by Jeff Feuerzeig, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in early 2027.

The documentary will trace the band’s journey from their working-class roots in Sheffield to global stardom and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is expected to feature previously unreleased footage and provide unprecedented access to the band members.

Interviews will include five long-standing members: Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Vivian Campbell, Rick Allen, and Rick Savage. The film will cover significant milestones and personal tragedies, including the death of guitarist Steve Clark and the accident that resulted in drummer Rick Allen losing his arm. Feuerzeig described the project as an emotional and often humorous story of underdogs rather than a typical rock narrative.
