Henry Aulich dies in Dresden Antifa-Ost trial
Henry Aulich, a 38-year-old defendant in the high-profile “Antifa-Ost” trial at the Higher Regional Court in Dresden, has died. His death occurred on the night of Saturday, October 24, 2026, following a period in a coma.
Aulich had been in a critical state since mid-August after a suicide attempt involving an S-Bahn train in Leipzig. His defense team, including lawyer Felix Isensee, has leveled serious accusations against the court, claiming the judiciary failed in its duty of care. The defense argues that the court insisted on his participation in the main proceedings despite his known severe psychological distress and history of suicide attempts.
The trial, which began in November 2025, involves seven individuals accused of being members of a left-wing extremist organization involved in attacks on suspected neo-Nazis. Aulich was specifically accused of involvement in an attack in Wurzen in February 2020. His legal proceedings had been separated from the others in September due to his health, but he passed away shortly after.
