Defensor del Pueblo hosts meeting to promote gender equality

The Defensor del Pueblo held its second “Encuentro de Buenas Prácticas: Compartiendo Lecciones Aprendidas” to promote gender equality and strengthen citizen participation in institutional policy-making.

Ana Martich, coordinator of the organization’s Gender Equality Unit, stated that the event aims to deepen inter-institutional dialogue and consolidate a space for collective learning and accountability. Participating entities shared programs and projects designed to reduce gender gaps, prevent violence and discrimination, and promote female autonomy.

Key topics addressed during the meeting included strategies for improving labor and living conditions, fostering female leadership in non-traditional sectors, promoting positive masculinities, and protecting vulnerable groups.
