Defensoria Pública da Paraíba announces first public contest and strategic plan

The Public Defender's Office of Paraíba (DPE-PB) has announced its first-ever public service entrance exam, offering 20 vacancies for technical and higher-level positions. Organized by the Fundação Carlos Chagas, the contest includes 11 roles for Analysts in fields such as legal assistance, internal auditing, systems development, psychology, and information security, as well as nine roles for Technicians. Salaries range from R$ 4,042.50 to R$ 5,197.50. Applications are scheduled to open on September 28, with objective exams planned for February 28, 2027.

In conjunction with this expansion, Sylvio Porto Filho, the sub-defender public-general for administration, outlined a strategic vision for the institution. He emphasized three main pillars for the coming years: professional valorization, technological modernization, and physical infrastructure improvements. Porto Filho stated that technology should be used to eliminate time-consuming tasks, allowing defenders to focus more on legal processes and public service. He also highlighted the need for adequate and safe facilities across the state and proposed a transparent review of compensation to ensure parity with other states.
