Defensoria Pública of Amazonas expands legal residency and free aid programs

The Defensoria Pública do Estado do Amazonas (DPE‑AM) opened a selective process for the legal residency project “Nosso Coração Também é Azul,” aimed at candidates on the autism spectrum. Eligible participants are law graduates or final‑year students with autism, with applications accepted until 13 July. The selected resident receives a monthly stipend of R$ 2 550 and works 30 hours per week.

Starting 7 July, DPE‑AM began a free legal‑assistance operation in Caapiranga, held at the local Conselho Tutelar until 10 July. The service provides counsel on family law and public‑record matters, serving residents who present identification and relevant documents.

In Urucurituba, DPE‑AM also opened a residency‑selection call for law graduates or final‑year students. Applications are submitted online until 8 July, with a three‑year, non‑renewable term and a monthly stipend of R$ 2 500. Results are scheduled for 9 July.
