DeFi Development Corp expands Solana reserves and launches data platform
Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp (DFDV) has expanded its Solana (SOL) reserves by purchasing approximately 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14. This acquisition brings the company’s total holdings to roughly 2.33 million SOL, valued at approximately $208 million. The company intends to utilize these tokens through its staking infrastructure to generate yield rather than treating them solely as a passive reserve.
In addition to its treasury expansion, the company launched ‘State of Solana’, a free public data platform. The dashboard provides real-time metrics including network throughput (TPS), staking data, validator distribution, and ecosystem indicators to help investors assess the network’s fundamentals.
Despite the significant crypto holdings, the company has faced financial challenges. DFDV reported a net loss of $27.3 million for the quarter ending June 30, with a total first-half net loss of $110.7 million. A major contributor to these losses was a $72.5 million non-cash loss driven by the decline in SOL's value against the US dollar.
