DeFi Development Corp and Digital Commodities expand Solana holdings

Publicly traded companies are increasingly adopting specialized digital asset treasury strategies. DeFi Development Corp, listed on the Nasdaq, has expanded its Solana (SOL) holdings to over 2.5 million tokens. The company recently added approximately 47,706 SOL, bringing its total holdings to a value of roughly $309 million. DeFi Development Corp utilizes a strategy of accumulating and compounding SOL through staking and validator operations to generate additional returns.

Separately, Canadian-listed Digital Commodities has initiated a new digital asset allocation by purchasing approximately C$100,000 worth of Solana. This purchase was funded by selling a portion of the company’s physical gold holdings rather than through debt or equity issuance. The company maintains 11 Bitcoin and cash as its core reserve foundation, while treating Solana as a growth asset linked to potential demand from artificial intelligence and blockchain infrastructure.
