Definium Therapeutics reports successful Phase III trial for LSD-based anxiety treatment

Definium Therapeutics has announced successful results from its Phase III Voyage trial, testing DT120, an LSD-based experimental pill designed to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). The study involved 214 participants aged 18 to 74.

Results showed that patients receiving a single 100-microgram dose of DT120 experienced a clinically significant reduction in anxiety symptoms compared to a placebo group. Specifically, the treatment group saw an 11.6-point drop on a standard anxiety rating scale at the 12-week mark, while the placebo group saw a 6.2-point drop. This placebo-adjusted difference of 5.4 points met key benchmarks for success.

This follows a previous successful trial for DT120 regarding major depressive disorder. Unlike traditional daily medications, DT120 is intended to be administered as a single dose during a monitored session. The company's shares have seen significant growth this year amid increasing regulatory and investor interest in psychedelic-based therapies.
