Defne Kurt wins gold at European Para Swimming Championships

Turkish para swimmer Defne Kurt secured a gold medal at the European Para Swimming Championships held in Paris, France. Kurt won the 100-meter freestyle final with a time of 59.21 seconds, earning the title of European Champion.

In addition to her gold medal, Kurt also earned a silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 27.13 seconds. Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak issued a congratulatory message regarding her achievement.

Turkey was represented by 26 national athletes across four disciplines: swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, and diving. Other notable performances included Nusrat Allahverdi, who placed 11th in the 50-meter breaststroke semi-finals, and Doruk Yoğurtçuoğlu, who reached the semi-finals of the men's 200-meter breaststroke, finishing 12th overall.
