Degaña traffic accident kills two young men

Two 23-year-old men died following a traffic accident on the AS-15 highway in Degaña, Asturias. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning near kilometer 103, between Cerredo and La Collada.

Emergency services were alerted at 1:15 a.m. after a vehicle was found overturned in a wooded area. Firefighters from the Servicio de Emergencias del Principado de Asturias (SEPA) and Villablino responded to the scene, where they had to extricate the bodies from the wreckage by removing seats and doors. One victim was a resident of Caboalles and the other lived in Ponferrada. It is believed the individuals were returning from local festivities in Degaña.
