Dehesa 7 Fire reaches 50% containment in San Diego County

The Dehesa 7 Fire, located in a rural area east of El Cajon near Dehesa Road, has reached 50% containment after burning approximately 93 acres. The blaze began Wednesday afternoon near Dehesa Road and Red Gum Road.

Initial reports indicated a dangerous rate of spread, prompting evacuation orders for areas north of Dehesa Road, west of Tavern Road, and south of Alpine Heights Road. However, following aggressive management by crews, all evacuation orders have since been lifted. No injuries or structural damage have been reported.

Firefighters worked through the night to strengthen containment lines. While high temperatures were expected to continue, increased moisture and a slight chance of showers were noted as potential aids to containment efforts. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Cal Fire.
