Dehradun T20 League announces captains for inaugural 2026 season

The inaugural Dehradun T20 League 2026 is set to begin on September 2 at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The eight-day tournament will feature six franchise teams competing in a round-robin format, with a total of 18 matches scheduled through the final on September 9.

All six franchise captains have been confirmed. Akash Madhwal, who has experience in the IPL, will lead Mussoorie Thunder, while Jagadeesha Suchith will captain the Herbertpur Knightriders. Other appointed captains include TNR Mohit for Doiwala Kings, Yuvraj Chaudhary for Rishikesh Dragons, Kunal Chandela for Vikasnagar Dhamaka, and Piyush Joshi for Selakui Strikers.

League CEO Navneet Mishra stated that the mix of experienced players and local talent is intended to nurture the next generation of cricketers in the region. The tournament structure includes 15 league matches followed by two semi-finals on September 8 and a final on September 9.
