Dehradun: Two dead and one rescued after car swept away by floodwaters
Two people died and one woman was rescued after an SUV was swept away by strong rainwater currents near Kandoli Bridge on Poundha Road in the Prem Nagar area of Dehradun.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) launched a continuous search and rescue operation during the night despite adverse weather conditions. Rescuers located and saved an injured female, identified as Sehaj, approximately two kilometers from the incident site. She was subsequently handed over to the police.
SDRF personnel recovered the bodies of the two other occupants: a 20-year-old male named Akshay, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, and an unidentified young woman. The bodies have been transferred to local police for post-mortem examination and legal proceedings.
