ΔΕΗ completes acquisition of 1.2 GW renewable energy portfolio in Poland

ΔΕΗ has completed the acquisition of 17 subsidiaries from the German company ABO Energy in Poland. This move is part of a larger strategic agreement signed in August 2026 to acquire renewable energy portfolios in Poland and Hungary, totaling over 2 GW of capacity.

The Polish portfolio includes up to 1.2 GW of renewable energy projects, such as solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. A 17 MW solar plant is currently under construction, while other projects are in various stages of development. The acquisition also includes the local ABO Energy development team to bolster ΔΕΗ’s expertise in the Polish market.

The second phase of the agreement, involving the acquisition of ABO Energy’s portfolio in Hungary with approximately 1.1 GW of capacity, is expected to be finalized within the fourth quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approvals.
