DEI Group expands into Hungary with 57.5 MW solar park

The DEI Group, through its subsidiary DEI Renewables, has signed an agreement with the Greenvolt consortium, backed by KKR, to add a 57.5 MW photovoltaic park in the village of Királyegyháza, southern Hungary. The plant entered commercial operation in July 2024, is expected to operate for more than 30 years and is covered by a 25‑year state‑backed fixed‑price contract.

The deal also gives DEI the right to acquire a neighbouring battery‑energy‑storage system (BESS) of 49 MW capacity with a four‑hour discharge capability. The investment forms part of DEI’s 2026‑2030 strategic plan, which foresees a €24 billion programme aimed at almost doubling the group’s installed capacity and strengthening its presence across Central and South‑Eastern Europe. The move is presented as a milestone for creating a regional clean‑energy platform that links Greece with the broader Central‑European market.
