Deion Sanders addresses reports of lost Colorado playbook

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has dismissed reports that a portion of his team’s offensive playbook was left at a hotel prior to a 29-7 loss against Texas Tech on October 3, 2026.

Reports surfaced that approximately 25 pages of the Buffaloes’ offensive strategy were discovered at a hotel bar in the Broomfield area by Texas Tech supporters. Images of the document, which allegedly included scripted opening plays, subsequently circulated on social media and message boards.

Sanders minimized the incident, stating that mistakes happen at both the professional and collegiate levels. He argued that even if an opponent possessed the first several plays, they would still need to execute stops on the field. Sanders indicated there would be no further investigation into the matter, telling reporters, “It’s over. Game’s over.”
