Deion Sanders' Colorado coaching tenure under scrutiny

ESPN analyst Matt Barrie has suggested that Deion Sanders’ coaching tenure at the University of Colorado may be nearing its end, citing a difficult 2026 season for the Buffaloes. Speaking on ‘The Matt Barrie Show’ alongside analyst Paul Finebaum, Barrie remarked that the situation in Colorado appears to have come to a “complete and screeching halt.”

Finebaum expressed similar sentiments following the team’s 29-7 home loss to Texas Tech, specifically noting a critical play by quarterback Isaac Wilson. The discussion highlighted the challenges facing the program following a major roster overhaul, which included 43 transfers after the departure of key players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to the NFL. Analysts noted that recent changes to the offensive and defensive coordination have not yielded the desired results.
