Deion Sanders dismisses legal issues as distractions for Colorado

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has stated that his ongoing legal matters are not a distraction as the team prepares for its season opener against Georgia Tech on September 3.

Sanders is currently facing multiple legal issues, including a subpoena to testify in the bankruptcy trial of his son, Shilo Sanders. Shilo filed for bankruptcy following a 2022 judgment requiring him to pay over $11 million in damages related to a 2015 incident. Additionally, Sanders is involved in a lawsuit filed by a graphic designer who alleges he was promised career perks in exchange for logo rights that were never delivered.

During a recent press conference, Sanders dismissed the impact of these cases, characterizing them as “off-the-field foolishness” that often accompanies high-profile individuals. His attorney has filed a motion to dismiss the subpoena regarding Shilo’s trial, and a judge has scheduled a video hearing to address the matter.
