Deion Sanders faces logo lawsuit and subpoena in son's bankruptcy case

Colorado coach Deion Sanders is facing legal challenges involving both his personal brand and his son's financial situation.

A lawsuit filed by Alan Tipp in Nebraska alleges that Sanders used the “Prime” logo without fair compensation. Tipp claims he designed the logo in 2011 and was fraudulently induced to relinquish his rights to the work. Sanders has testified under oath that he used the logos prior to his involvement with Tipp, and the case has proceeded toward a jury trial.

Separately, Sanders’ attorney has moved to quash a subpoena requiring Deion Sanders to testify in the bankruptcy trial of his son, Shilo Sanders. Shilo is facing an $11 million debt following a 2016 lawsuit from a former security guard, John Darjean, regarding a 2015 incident in Dallas. The attorney has also requested a protective order to prevent further subpoena attempts in the matter. The bankruptcy trial is scheduled to begin in Denver on August 31.
