Deion Sanders linked to Florida State coaching vacancy

Florida State University has fired head coach Mike Norvell after six and a half seasons, leading to a search for a replacement. Norvell’s tenure included two winning seasons, though the program saw a 13-1 record in 2023 that failed to result in a College Football Playoff appearance due to controversy.

Following the decision to buy out Norvell, college football analyst Adam Kramer has identified Deion Sanders, the current head coach of the University of Colorado, as a top candidate for the position. Sanders previously played for Florida State, and his potential return to Tallahassee has been discussed by analysts, despite the recent struggles of the Colorado Buffaloes program.
