Deion Sanders receives prosthetic toes after health battle

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has reached a significant health milestone by receiving custom prosthetic toes for his left foot. The 59-year-old coach had two toes amputated following a 2021 medical procedure that resulted in life-threatening blood clots in his femoral artery.

Sanders shared the update via video on social media, where he expressed excitement about the realistic appearance of the prosthetics and the ability to return to wearing his standard size 11.5 shoes. The custom silicone prosthetics are intended to improve his mobility and weight distribution while standing and walking.

In addition to his foot complications, Sanders has navigated other health challenges, including bladder cancer, for which he announced he was cancer-free in June.

On the field, the Colorado Buffaloes enter Week 3 of the college football season with a 2-0 record. The team is scheduled to play the Northwestern Wildcats in Evanston, Illinois.
