Deion Sanders dismisses preseason All‑Big 12 snub as Colorado readies for 2026 campaign

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders addressed the preseason All‑Big 12 first‑team snub at the conference media day in Frisco, Texas, saying the Buffaloes “don’t care about what people say.” He framed the omission as extra motivation, noting “our kids know who, what, when, where and how they are” and promising the team will prove critics wrong.

Sanders also spoke about his personal health, confirming he is now “back above 200 pounds” after being declared cancer‑free following a bladder‑cancer diagnosis last year. He said he has “the swagger back,” which he believes will help the program.

The Buffaloes finished the 2025 season 3‑9 after the graduation of quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman‑winner Travis Hunter. Heading into 2026, Colorado brings one of the nation’s top transfer‑portal classes and a revamped coaching staff, with Sanders confident the team can compete for the conference title.
