DEISA Ebano opens corporate museum in Bologna to mark centenary

DEISA Ebano, a Bolognese chemical company, has inaugurated its corporate museum at its headquarters on via Edoardo Collamarini to mark its centenary. The museum features over 300 items, including original sketches, drawings, posters, photographs, display projects, and prototypes, alongside vintage machinery and production tools.

The collection highlights a century of Italian communication and industrial design, showcasing works by prominent 20th-century artists and photographers such as Giovanni Mingozzi, Achille Luciano Mauzan, Aurelio Craffonara, Pietro Pietra, Marcello Dudovich, Franco Fontana, and Nino Migliori. The exhibition traces the evolution of visual styles from Art Deco to rationalist synthesis.

Curated by art historian Francesca Sinigaglia, the museum documents the company's history and its impact on national consumer imagery through brands like Ebano, Zig Zag, Voilà, Aquila, and Calzanetto. A published volume, ‘Un sogno lucido. DEISA Ebano: storia, bozzetti, manifesti e Museo’, provides the critical framework for the collection and notes that the company's earliest written traces date back to 1922.
