Dejan Bodiroga enters Serbian politics and EuroLeague clubs approve franchise model

EuroLeague Basketball shareholder clubs met in Cernobbio, Italy, to approve a strategic shift toward a franchise model. The thirteen shareholder clubs, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Fenerbahce, agreed to convert their current 10-year licenses into franchises. Additionally, the clubs approved the expansion of the number of franchises, tasking the Board of Directors with presenting final recommendations in the coming weeks.

Separately, Dejan Bodiroga, the current President of EuroLeague and a former professional basketball player, has entered Serbian politics. Bodiroga cast his vote in the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Belgrade and is a candidate for the ‘Students Win’ list, where he holds the 24th position. He has publicly supported the student movement opposing the government of Aleksandar Vučić, participating in campaign rallies and criticizing the current administration.
