Dejan Kulusevski and Sandro Tonali return to Tottenham training

Tottenham Hotspur players Dejan Kulusevski and Sandro Tonali have returned to training, providing a boost to manager Roberto De Zerbi amid an inconsistent start to the season. Tonali is expected to be available for the upcoming match against Aston Villa following a recent knock.

Kulusevski is also reintegrating into the squad after a long-term recovery from a serious knee injury that required surgery in May 2025 and a second operation in March 2026. While he has returned to training, medical staff are expected to take a cautious approach to his match fitness.

Due to his ongoing recovery process, Sweden national team manager Graham Potter has explained that Kulusevski will not be selected for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Romania and Poland. Potter noted that the player's involvement is currently being managed by Tottenham, who are best positioned to decide his readiness.
