Dejan Lovren discusses career future and criticizes player conduct

Former Croatian international Dejan Lovren spoke at the Sport Fest in Poreč regarding his football career and his experiences playing for major European clubs. Lovren expressed uncertainty about his retirement, stating that while his mind suggests it may be time to stop, his heart feels he is not finished yet.

Reflecting on his time at Liverpool, Lovren credited manager Jürgen Klopp with restoring his self-confidence and helping him progress as a player. He praised Klopp's ability to identify and develop talent from clubs like RB Leipzig and Southampton.

Lovren also addressed a significant defeat by Croatia against England, expressing anger over the conduct of an unnamed teammate who requested an opponent's jersey following the match. Lovren described the gesture as unacceptable given the context of the loss. Additionally, he highlighted Luka Modrić as a vital role model for younger generations, comparing his professional approach to that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
