Dejan Rambo Petković to receive Rio de Janeiro's highest honor

Dejan Rambo Petković, the former Serbian international, is to be awarded the Tiradentes Medal, the highest honor bestowed by the Rio de Janeiro State Assembly. The resolution was proposed by state deputy Juri Moura and officially adopted by the parliament on Thursday, September 10.

Petković is recognized for his profound impact on Brazilian football culture. A former player for Flamengo, he became a legendary figure in Rio, notably for his decisive free-kick goal in the 2001 Rio de Janeiro state championship final. Throughout his career in Brazil, he also played for clubs including Vitória, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense, Goiás, Santos, and Atlético Mineiro.
