Inter Milan activates buy‑back for Aleksandar Stankovic amid Premier League interest

Inter Milan has triggered a €23 million buy‑back clause to re‑sign Serbian midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic, the son of former star Dejan Stanković. After a standout season with Club Brugge – 57 appearances, 14 goal involvements and a league title – his market value is estimated around €40 million. The club faces a strategic dilemma: keep the 20‑year‑old, who could compete for a midfield role beside Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella, or sell him for a sizable profit. Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Arsenal and Brentford, have been reported to have made offers in the €40 million range.

Dejan Stanković publicly supported his son, emphasizing the need for continuity and stating, “He must have regular playing time; that is all he needs to surpass me.”

At the same time, Bosnian winger Kerim Alajbegović has voiced strong interest in joining Inter, naming the club among the top Serie A destinations alongside Juventus, Napoli and Roma. Inter’s broader summer agenda also mentions potential signings such as Curtis Jones and defensive options, while possible sales include Luis Henrique and the activation of release clauses for players like Denzel Dumfries.
