Dejan Vuk Stanković accused of mass teacher dismissals in Serbia
Tatjana Marković Topalović, Vice President of the Srce party, has accused outgoing Serbian Education Minister Dejan Vuk Stanković of conducting mass dismissals within the education system.
According to Marković Topalović, more than 100 teachers and 75 directors were terminated at the start of the previous school year. She stated that a new wave of dismissals has continued this September, characterizing the actions as an attempt to purge schools of teachers who supported protests or expressed dissenting opinions.
Marković Topalović further alleged that these vacancies are being filled by unqualified individuals, some of whom possess suspicious diplomas. She criticized the minister's tenure, noting that despite the dissolution of the government and the calling of elections, the ministry continues to implement controversial changes.
