DeKalb County defendants receive life sentences for separate fatal incidents

Two separate incidents in DeKalb County, Georgia, have resulted in life sentences for the defendants involved.

Talisha Moore-Real, 35, was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole, plus 10 years, for the intentional killing of 53-year-old LaQuita Baker. The incident occurred at a motel on Flat Shoals Road following an argument involving Baker’s daughter. Prosecutors stated that Moore-Real drove her vehicle toward Baker and ran her over after a series of confrontations. Surveillance footage captured the fatal collision.

In a separate case, Azavier Lilly, 27, received a life sentence for the murder of 28-year-old Rashad Walker. The shooting took place at a Decatur apartment complex following a physical dispute over a cellphone. Investigators determined that Lilly used an untraceable “ghost gun” to kill Walker. Lilly was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, and several other charges.
