Del Álamo Family Vineyards praised as model of sustainable viticulture in Castilla‑La Mancha

The regional Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Julián Martínez Lizán, visited Del Álamo Family Vineyards in Madridejos, Toledo, and called the winery a reference for sustainable, high‑quality viticulture in Castilla‑La Mancha. He highlighted the family's three‑generation legacy, the shift to fully owned facilities completed in 2025, and the integration of tradition with responsible resource use.

The vineyard’s 100 % organic certification, use of renewable energy, and smart‑irrigation systems that cut water consumption by more than 75 % were presented as examples of climate‑friendly practices. The winery is also pursuing the SWFCP certification for climate protection. About 91.8 % of its 2023‑24 production carries IGP or DOP labels, and it offers ecological and vegan wines that blend native and international grape varieties.

Beyond environmental goals, the project supports rural employment, collaborates with local suppliers, and participates in cultural and educational initiatives, contributing to the socioeconomic revitalisation of the surrounding area.
