Del Monte and Riverking form fresh-cut fruit joint venture in China

Del Monte Corporation has announced a joint venture with Riverking (Shanghai) Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. to expand its presence in China’s fresh-cut fruit segment. The partnership combines Del Monte’s brand strength, packaging, and fresh-cut technology with Riverking’s local sourcing, distribution, and customer networks.

The agreement was announced during Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong. The move targets the rapidly growing demand for convenient and safe produce in China. According to a DataIntelo report, China is projected to account for approximately 45% of Asia’s fresh-cut produce market by 2034, as Asia remains the fastest-growing region globally for this sector.
