Delaware announces early voting schedule for 2026 primary election
The Delaware Department of Elections has announced that early voting for the 2026 Primary Election will commence on September 2, 2026. Eligible voters include those registered with the Democratic or Republican parties, as well as Automatic Voter Registration (AVR) voters who have not yet declared a party affiliation.
Under Delaware Code, AVR voters may declare their affiliation as Democratic or Republican up to and including the primary election date on September 15, 2026. Choosing a specific ballot at an early voting site or polling place will update the voter's official party affiliation.
The 10-day early voting period follows a specific schedule: sites will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the first five days (September 2–5, excluding Labor Day), and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the final five days (September 9–13).
