Delaware primary elections: Arminio and Lauzen win nominations

In Delaware's primary elections, Joseph Arminio has secured the Republican nomination for the state's at-large U.S. House seat. Arminio, a political scientist and educator, defeated Earl Cooper and John Whalen III to advance to the November general election, where he will face Democratic incumbent Sarah McBride.

Arminio’s platform focused on economic issues, specifically through his “American Prosperity Plan” aimed at reducing debt and stimulating growth. He also campaigned on increased immigration enforcement and reduced U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts.

In the race for Delaware State Treasurer, Democrat Ted Lauzen won the primary after defeating Mike Miller and Michael Alexander Smith. Lauzen, an investment manager, will face Republican Michael Ramone in the general election to succeed outgoing Treasurer Colleen C. Davis. Lauzen’s campaign emphasized protecting the state’s AAA credit rating, modernizing debt policy, and expanding financial literacy programs.
