Delaware State Trooper Thomas Catalfamo Indicted for Official Misconduct
A suspended Delaware State Trooper, Thomas Catalfamo, has been indicted on four counts of official misconduct after prosecutors allege he exploited a 21‑year‑old woman experiencing a mental‑health crisis. Investigators say Catalfamo responded to a service call on July 13, 2025, influenced the woman's assessment at Beebe Healthcare to release her into his care, and then engaged in inappropriate sexual contact while transporting her home. He is accused of manipulating his body‑worn camera and the patrol vehicle’s video system to conceal the conduct.
Attorney General Kathy Jennings announced the indictment, noting that the Department of Justice’s Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust and Delaware State Police have cooperated fully with the investigation. Catalfamo remains suspended and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
