Delaware State University reports record student enrollment

Delaware State University (DSU) has reached a record enrollment of 6,623 students for the Fall 2025 semester, the largest in the institution's 134-year history.

According to Provost Dr. Patrice Gilliam, the surge is driven by increased demand in flagship programs including healthcare, education, and business. The growth is also attributed to the state-sponsored Delaware Inspire program, a fully funded scholarship for in-state students committed to public service.

Founded in 1891, the Dover-based university is ranked as the 9th highest Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
