Delaware women's ice hockey defeats Syracuse in shutout victory

The University of Delaware women's ice hockey team secured a 1-0 victory over Syracuse at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. Goaltender Charlotte Payne recorded 40 saves, marking the first shutout in Delaware program history.

Syracuse controlled much of the game, outshooting Delaware significantly in the first two periods. However, Delaware found momentum in the third period. Wren Abboud scored the decisive goal with 11 minutes remaining in the final frame, assisted by Bailey Gray and Emma MacIntyre.

The win marks Delaware's second consecutive victory and their first road win in Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) play. Syracuse, which had previously received votes in national polls, falls to a 6-3-0 record on the season.
