Delft tram line 19 to begin service to TU campus

After 22 years of development, tram line 19 is set to begin regular service between Delft station and the TU Delft campus. The new route will travel via Zuidpoort and Julianalaan, including stops at the Aula and Mekelpark.

The project faced several technical challenges during construction, including issues with the weight of the trams potentially interfering with university laboratory research. Following a period of testing to ensure the integration of tracks, overhead lines, and traffic light systems, the service is now ready for students and staff to use as an alternative to bus transport.
