Bhagat Singh and Vithalbhai Patel honored on birth anniversaries
Various leaders and communities across India marked the birth anniversaries of revolutionary freedom fighters Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Vithalbhai Patel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Bhagat Singh on his 119th birth anniversary, describing him as a source of inspiration for the nation's youth. Modi highlighted Singh's fearlessness and his request to the British authorities to be shot rather than hanged. Other officials, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also issued tributes.
In Delhi, Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht paid floral tributes to both Bhagat Singh and Vithalbhai Patel. Bisht noted Patel's historical significance as the first Indian elected President of the Central Legislative Assembly in 1925.
In Visakhapatnam, local fishermen and youth organized cultural and sporting events to commemorate Bhagat Singh's life and his vision of a society free from exploitation.
