Delhi Assembly Speaker meets University of Delhi students

Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta met with University of Delhi students on Thursday as part of the Assembly’s Youth Outreach Programme. The initiative aims to provide young people with practical exposure to democratic institutions outside of a classroom setting.

During the interaction, Gupta encouraged students from various colleges—including Kirori Mal, Sukhdev, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, and Law Centres I and II—to focus on continuous learning and personal excellence rather than excessive pressure regarding the future. He emphasized that nation-building is not exclusive to politics and that individuals can contribute to society through any profession by acting with honesty and responsibility.

Gupta also discussed the importance of an informed citizenry in a healthy democracy. He advised students to engage with diverse viewpoints and participate in debate and disagreement, provided such actions remain within the framework of constitutional values and mutual respect.
