Delhi authorities take action in matrimonial crime cases

In separate legal developments in Delhi, authorities have taken action against individuals accused of matrimonial-related crimes.

Dwarka District Police arrested a 33-year-old man, identified as Jitender, who had been declared a proclaimed offender in a dowry case. The accused had been evading trial related to charges filed under the Indian Penal Code at the Mohan Garden Police Station. The arrest was conducted by the Anti-Jail Bail and Proclaimed Offenders Cell following specific intelligence regarding his residence in Roop Nagar.

Separately, the Delhi High Court denied bail to a man accused of sexual offences, including rape on the false promise of marriage. The court noted prima facie evidence that the accused operated nine fake matrimonial profiles using various names, ages, and occupations—including one persona of a woman—to target victims. Justice Girish Kathpalia dismissed the application as the trial is nearing its conclusion.
