Delhi BJP blames AAP and Congress for infrastructure and safety failures
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra has accused the successive Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) governments of failing to manage the capital city’s infrastructure and safety challenges between November 1998 and January 2025.
Malhotra alleged that these administrations failed to implement necessary regulations for the rapid expansion of commercial establishments, specifically citing coaching centres, PG accommodations, guest houses, and hotels. He characterized the lack of safety policies as ‘criminal negligence’ that has negatively impacted the city’s urban environment.
Furthermore, the BJP leader claimed that the previous governments deliberately reduced funding for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) due to a ‘political vendetta,’ which he argues weakened the civic body’s financial stability and its ability to provide essential services.
