Bawana school bus driver arrested for alleged sexual assault of three-year-old
A school bus driver, identified as Vikas, has been arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old nursery student at a private school in the Bawana area of Delhi. The incident came to light in mid-August after the child's family noticed physical injuries and behavioral changes. The victim reportedly told her mother about a “bad uncle” at the school who would give her chocolates.
Following a report to the school administration, the child identified the driver after being shown CCTV footage and photographs on August 24. Police subsequently arrested Vikas from the school premises. Preliminary investigations suggest the child may have been abused on four separate occasions. CCTV footage reportedly shows the accused following the child toward a bathroom and offering her chocolates.
During the investigation, police seized the accused's mobile phone, which contained several videos of him offering chocolates to other young children. Authorities are currently working to identify these children to provide necessary counseling. An FIR has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
