Delhi Capitals expands international cricket presence in US and Japan
The Delhi Capitals cricket franchise is expanding its international grassroots presence through new partnerships in North America and Japan.
In the United States, the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy has opened a new center in Plainville, Connecticut. Established in partnership with Premier Cricket Academy, this facility serves as the franchise’s third academy in the U.S. and fourth in North America. The academy will implement the Delhi Capitals’ structured coaching curriculum and technical framework to develop young players aged five and older.
In Japan, the franchise has partnered with The British School in Tokyo (BST) to promote the sport among students. Supported by the Japan Cricket Association, the initiative includes coaching workshops and technical support for school coaches. Former Indian captain and Delhi Capitals Women’s Assistant Coach Anju Jain recently conducted workshops at BST to introduce students to the fundamentals of the game. This expansion follows the growing momentum of cricket in Japan ahead of its inclusion in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic programme.
