Delhi Capitals finalize WPL 2027 squad at Kochi auction

Delhi Capitals have completed their 17-member squad for the 2027 Women’s Premier League (WPL) following an auction held in Kochi. The franchise, which entered the auction with 13 retained players, secured four new signings: Indian batter Kiran Navgire, 15-year-old all-rounder Uma Kashvi, Indian all-rounder Nazma Khan, and Scottish spinner Kirstie Gordon.

Kiran Navgire was the marquee acquisition, costing ₹75 lakh. Uma Kashvi, a right-arm off-spinner from Karnataka, made history as the youngest player ever signed in a WPL auction at age 15. The total expenditure for the Delhi Capitals squad reached ₹14.95 crore, including ₹13.9 crore spent on player retentions.

Head Coach Jonathan Batty expressed satisfaction with the strategy, noting that the additions provide significant batting firepower and squad depth. The team aims to secure its first WPL title after reaching the finals in all four previous seasons.
