Delhi Capitals target KL Rahul trade, hold Bengaluru trials for IPL 2027

Former India batsman Aakash Chopra suggested that the Kolkata Knight Riders could acquire KL Rahul from the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2027 auction. He argued that Rahul would serve as an opener, keeper and captain, solving multiple needs for KKR, which finished seventh in the 2026 season. Possible exchange packages mentioned include Varun Chakaravarthy, Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Anukul Roy or even Australian all‑rounder Cameron Green, with Delhi likely seeking a bowler or spinner in return.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals have begun player trials in Bengaluru to scout young domestic talent for the next season. The trials, running from 3 August 2026, feature prospects such as Ayush Vartak, Ayaz Khan and Divyaansh Saxena, who aim to impress the Capitals' coaching staff and secure a place in the upcoming squad.
