Delhi Census 2027 second phase expected to begin January 10

The second phase of the 2027 Census in Delhi is expected to commence on January 10, 2027. This phase will include a 15-day self-enumeration window running from January 10 to January 24, followed by house-to-house field operations from January 25 to February 28. A revisional round is planned for March 1 to March 5.

Officials noted that the first phase of the census concluded on June 14, covering approximately 76 lakh houses and 55 lakh households, with an estimated population of over 2.3 crore residents.

The upcoming population enumeration phase involves a 40-question questionnaire. For the first time since the 1931 census, data on caste will be captured. Other parameters include religion, migration, education, occupation, and parental details. The survey will also collect information on nationality, disability, mother tongue, and employment status. While identification details like Aadhaar, voter ID, or passport numbers may be requested, providing Aadhaar information remains voluntary.
